It has been a good few days, I keep testing new scenarios, new layouts, and everything I find, gets fixed. Additional to this, new features and enhancements are being added slowly, but steady, read what is new in this version below.
This is a Patreon supporters only release, the next release will be the one making it to the Adobe Marketplace, it will include everything in this release, plus whatever new is found.
What’s changed in this release
Bug Fixes
- Text and shapes that use blend modes like Color Burn now export in the same colors you see in InDesign, not black
- Drop caps now line up with the first and last lines they span, instead of sitting too high and getting their tops cut off.
- Fixed the dotted stroke style (“Japanese Dots”) so it now renders as actual dots instead of a solid line.
- Improved how the exporter reads text-wrap spacing so wrap settings from InDesign come through correctly in future exports instead of silently being dropped.
- Fixed animations that grew or shrank on load doing nothing — their final keyframe could land past the 100% mark, which browsers ignore, so the effect never played.
- Fixed “Spring Left” so it actually springs — it now bounces to the page edge and settles back into place instead of sliding straight off the left side of the page.
- Fixed “Fly out” animations fading out immediately on page load. Objects now fade gradually as they move, and disappear at the end of their path.
New Features or Enhancements
- New “Scrolling” layout option: stacks all your pages in one long column that readers scroll through like a website, instead of turning one page at a time.
- SEO Enhancement: Text styled as a heading (
h1–h6) orblockquotein InDesign now exports as that real HTML tag, so search engines and screen readers can read the page’s structure — with no change to how it looks. - SEO Enhancement: Images now carry the alt text you set in InDesign’s Object Export Options, so screen readers can describe them, and images marked as decorative are skipped.
- Flipbook Enhancement
- Dragging a page in Curl mode now follows your cursor live, instead of only flipping after you let go
- Short or undecided drags spring back smoothly instead of snapping away
- Two-page spread turns now cast a soft shadow across the incoming far page as it’s uncovered, so it no longer pops in abruptly
- Consolidate options into a single section, to simplify the view
- NEW: Web Content : This doesn’t replace the Insert HTML from InDesign
- Added a Web Content menu item that opens its own screen for embedding YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, web pages or HTML code in a frame.
- The screen recognizes whatever you paste (a link, a share link, embed code or a plain address) and tells you what it found before you apply it.
- Each embed shows a preview image until the reader clicks it, so nothing loads from YouTube, Google or other sites before then.
- The preview is the image you placed in the frame, or else the video’s thumbnail (downloaded when you export), or else a simple placeholder.
- One click starts a video playing right away, with no second click needed.
- Videos pause when the reader turns the page and carry on from the same spot when they come back.
- You can set embeds to load when their page opens instead of on click, with options for autoplay, looping, player controls and fullscreen.
- Pasted HTML code runs in its own sealed box, so it can’t break the page around it.
- When the export is opened straight from disk, YouTube videos open on youtube.com instead of showing an error.
- Opening the Web Content or Scrollable Text screen now closes the other one, so the Back button always takes you to the export panel.
