Adobe has now completed its purchase of Topaz Labs. Which means those great tools we all love to use to upscale images and videos will be built into the Creative Cloud suite.
Topaz Labs is known for helping fix grainy and low quality video. Whether it’s from shooting in low light or using a phone. Their tools allow you to enlarge lower resolution photos and video without making everything look over processed. If you work with video you most likely are aware of their products. They have become very popular with the film community as well as photography. They received an Emmy award in 2025 for video technology. With products such as Astra which helps clean up video and wonder to help enhance photos they are able to preserve natural detail in both.
Adobe announced that they would be purchasing Topaz Labs back in June. They were just waiting on approval from the government to complete the deal. Now that its been finalized there are already some changes coming to the Adobe suite.
Here are some of the things to expect.
Topaz Labs will continue to operate as their own company. So you can expect to see more of their products as stand alone software.
The products they currently offer will also start being integrated into Photoshop and Adobe Firefly.
They will allow for local machine usage or cloud computing with their products. This is due to their neuro stream software that can process AI on your local machine or through the cloud.
There will be more tools to enhance older or damaged footage. As well as removing noise from low light video and allowing you to upscale mobile footage to look good on the big screen.
And they will help improve AI generated video to look more realistic.
