As promised, this is an ongoing project, we keep testing, we keep adding new features, enhancing the current functionality.
What’s changed in this release
Bug Fixes
- Fixed text frames that are slightly too short for their copy losing their last line in the export (e.g. “EARTH’S TOP” showing only “EARTH’S”). The export now always shows the same lines InDesign shows.
- Footnotes now show up in exports: each reference is numbered in the text and the notes appear at the bottom of the frame, in the style set in Document Footnote Options.
New Features or Enhancements
- Enhancement – New Export tab: the export dialog has a new Export tab, right after Viewer, with Preflight, Image quality and WebP moved there from Misc.
- New – Sharp vector artwork: placed Illustrator, EPS and PDF files can now export as SVG (sharp at any zoom, type included) instead of PNG, which stays the default.
- Automatic fallback: artwork SVG can’t show exactly (drop shadows, glows, mesh gradients, missing fonts) goes out as PNG, and the log says why.
- Smarter Preflight: the warning for AI, EPS and PDF files now reflects your PNG or SVG choice.
- New: Preflight now has a “Not supported yet” list of the InDesign features in your document that the web export leaves out or only approximates, like glows, footnotes and page transitions.
- Each feature is marked DROPPED or APPROX, and clicking one of its uses selects it in the layout.
- These are notes, not problems: they never stop an export or make a batch skip a document. They’re written to the export log.
- A new Copy report button copies the list as plain text, so you can send it to a client.
